Treatment Planning and Interventions · Somatic Regulation
Which Direction
Six clients mid-session. Read the state from the body rather than from what the client reports feeling, then choose the intervention that moves them in the direction they actually need. Three closing questions on how these practices are introduced.
What this exercise practises
Locating a client against the window of tolerance from observable signs, and matching the intervention to the direction of regulation required rather than to the distress on display.
One of the six is inside the window already. Over-treating that client teaches them that ordinary nervousness is a problem.
